Standard format is the best way for new and returning players to enter Magic.  Not only is it easier to build your collection, all cards interact with each other with exciting themes!  If you're in between games, be sure to check into this best of 3 swiss bracket for fun one-on-one human bonding!

MTG Arena has to be the very best way to test your paper deck before you bring it to life in the real world.  Let your inner creative deck builder out in this best of 3 swiss bracket!

Hearthstone

Maybe the RNG that is mana pulls in magic aren't your thing.  Don't worry!  In this double elimination, Last Hero Standing format, you'll never have to worry about your mana again!

Rule Set

Schedule

  • Sign ups for all 3 games start at 6pm and end at 6:50pm
  • Tournament starts at 7pm

Cost of Entry

$7 for each bracket you're participating in. 


IE:  If you're participating in both MTG and Hearthstone, the total cost is $14.


This helps us balance out winnings amongst the three games/brackets.

MTG/MTGA Format

MTG will utilize Standard Only paper decks.  Decks will need to be checked in with an on-duty staff member or Magic Judge.


  • Best-of-3 swiss format utilizing the Wizard's Event Reporter software to track rounds


MTGA will utilize a similar rule set, however since there is not yet an official tracking software for MTGA locals, we'll utilize Challonge bracket software.  Upon the release of MTGA software, we will adapt accordingly.

Prize Support

First place winners within both of these brackets will receive 6 Ravnica Allegiance booster packs.


Second place in both brackets will receive $10 in-store credit by way of gift cards.


Third place in both brackets will receive $5 in-store credit by way of gift cards.

Hearthstone

Hearthstone will utilize the Last Hero Standing format.  All decks used for the tournament must be submitted to the Tournament Organizer prior to bracket start.  All other decks must be deleted to avoid accidental clicking of decks not submitted or cheating.  This bracket will utilize our Challonge website for tracking placements.


  • Number of submitted decks: 3
  • Each submitted deck must be a different class
  • When a deck loses, it can no longer be used
  • Winners cannot change decks until they lose with their deck
  • Losing with all 3 decks loses the match
  • A match is defined as a player exhausting all 3 decks
  • The player with the last remaining deck wins the match and moves on in the bracket 
  • Each set is best of 1 match
  • Single elimination bracket until


Prize Support 

First place winners within both of these brackets will receive a $20 Blizzard gift card.


Second place support will receive $10 in-store credit by way of gift cards.


Third place will receive $5 in-store credit by way of gift cards.

Player conduct

 

  1. First 3 people to bring setups with all DLC gets venue waived. Setup must be used for tournament for venue waiver
  2. When a match is called, both players should report to the assigned station within 10 minutes - if the game has not started after that point, players are subject to forfeiting games and/or the set at the TO's discretion.
  3. Players required to report to assigned station within 10 minutes of being called. 
    1. May result in forfeit sets or disqualification.
  4. Please refer to the rules for the venue. Be respectful and clean up before you leave.
