Grand OpeningTournaments

Humble Beginnings

I name this post “Humble Beginnings” after a Facebook post was made – you know who you are.  We held our first tournament at The Forge on 3\14.  For those of you that missed it, we had an excellent turnout and some really great talent.  We had 33 participants for all three brackets (Street Fighter 4, XRD, and Melee) and close to, if not more than, 100 people coming in and showing their support for the community.

We were humbled by the turnout and grateful for the massive amount of support and assistance that we had throughout the tournament – you know who you are and we love you  This is the reason we believe the gaming community is so great and why we wanted to bring a central hub to town so gamers and nerds alike could sit down, hang out, and enjoy each other’s company.

But – even with as great as the tournament went last weekend, we want it bigger, better, and more appealing to get everyone out of the house and into the shop and we’d like your help to really drive this experience home.  The team sat down last weekend and really hashed out our learning points from the tournament and we feel that we’ve thought of, and remediated, a majority of the problems we experienced last weekend.  But we know there’s more.  If you attended the tournament last weekend and have any ideas for future tournaments, we want to hear them.  Head over to our “Contact” page and fill out the form.  You can also head over to our Facebook page ( ) and leave your suggestion there.  You can also reach us on Twitter ( ).

Thank you all, again, for coming out on the 14th and we look forward to seeing you soon.  For those of you who couldn’t make it last time or didn’t know it was happening, we hope to see you next time.
